How can a flexible cup protect me??

Unlike your standard hard shell cup,…The patented Spider Guard Web-Flex Technology works much like a crumple zone on a car by compressing, displacing and absorbing the energy. This allows the cup to absorb the energy…instead of its user. More injuries are caused by the hard cup moving into or crushing the user than by the actual impact. Who would believe a plastic bumper or plastic frame of a car protects one more than a steel bumper or frame???? …well it does!

It can’t protect me from side impact!!..can it?

Spider Guard protects you from side impact as much as any standard hard shell cup. It is NOT anatomically possible to design a cup that can protect its user from a side impact. Plastic and steel hard shell cups do NOT protect from side impact, only “frontal” impact. The energy transfers from the front of the cup and goes into the user’s body that is backing it up. Now visualize a side impact. The energy transfers from the side of the cup and will move the cup in the direction of impact until the energy is expelled to the user. A good analogy is…you can protect you nose from a frontal impact but you can not protect your nose from a side impact. If you placed a “cup” over the nose” front impact would be protected....but with an impact from the side the cup itself would break the nose.
